Building products with ownership, speed, and range across disciplines.

I do what the outcome requires. That has meant finding the real problem, covering what was missing, and turning early ideas into shipped products.

How I Work

Four principles from two decades in product, branding, and marketing, across companies and clients in hospitality, beauty, luxury, biotech, insurtech, and stone.

Solve the
Right Problem

I start by understanding the real problem underneath the stated one, then design for outcomes that solve it and create business value.

Think
Across Disciplines

I look beyond the interface, considering how product design, branding, marketing, and engineering work together to create a cohesive customer experience.

Keep It
Moving

I’m driven by results, so when something slows the work, I build what’s missing, whether that’s a workflow, a team, or the operating system a department runs on.

Take
Ownership

I’ve mostly worked where a design function didn’t exist yet, across startups, larger companies, and my own agency, often without another designer, much time, or a large budget. I own the outcome and find a way to deliver.

Experiences That Shaped Me

Each stage built on the one before it, and all of it still shows up in the way I work today.

Introduced Webflow at Byrst when front-end delivery became the bottleneck, bringing interface production in-house and shortening release cycles.
Research for What’s In My Jar uncovered a larger missed opportunity beyond sign-up friction: the product was designed around just one of three high-potential audiences.
Built the operations system for marketing at Best Cheer Stone, structuring every project from brief through design, contracts, and shipping, with access set by role so new hires could onboard themselves.
Founded Cre8tive Revolution in Shenzhen, delivering branding and experiential design for international clients including Ritz-Carlton, PTC, BGI, and Simpson Marine.

What People Say

Kind words from colleagues, clients, and collaborators.

Chuanyi is a rare find. Her energy is infectious, her work ethic is relentless, and her designs are as intuitive as they are beautiful. We hired her as a UX/UI designer, but she took on and accomplished so much more. At Byrst she single-handedly built our website along with several customer-facing tools and complex workflows, across both mobile and desktop. I wholeheartedly recommend her.

Patrick Ernst

Founder & CEO, Byrst

Chuanyi is truly focused on user experience and brings so much more to the table than the standard UX viewpoint I've experienced in the past. She has impressive work ethic and I felt I could fully rely on her.

Maria Semykoz

Founder of whatsinmyjar.com

Chuanyi is dedicated to her work with full-hearted enthusiasm. She essentially contributed to the development and elevation of our product branding, company image in the industry.
